Creating a Standby Database with Active Database Duplication (RMAN)

Now that cloud control 12c has been installed, I need a database to test features and agent install.

I have very seldom use Oracle Managed Files (OMF) and thought I would take the opportunity to rebuild the environment with physical standby using OMF.

You can find the notes here: Physical Standby (OMF)

A little tangent:

So far, I have been struggling since the database system and instance seems to be stuck in pending status.

Deleting the targets and re-discovering resulted in errors:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.EM_TARGET_LOOKUP",
line 42 ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.EM_TARGET", line 3281 ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.EM_TARGET", line 3511 ORA-06512: at line 1

Applying Patch 12570652: DB PROMOTION FAILS WITH:ORACLE.SYSMAN.EMSDK.CORE.TARGET.DUPLICATEENTITYEXCEPTION did not resolved the issue either.

Also encountering the errors below when attempting to install agent. The port is open and can be accessible using telnet host 4889

The agent installation fails with errors
Validating oms host & port with url: http://em12c.domain.com:4889/empbs/genwallet
Validating oms host & port with url: https://em12c.domain.com:4889/empbs/genwallet
Return status:2

Looks like back to square one with deinstall and install working with Oracle Support trying to figure this one out.
